Night in Villea Village
Beautiful grounds with swimming pool. The grounds are a charming oasis of olive trees and plants. When you walk through the gate from the car park, the pool and trees are stunning. Very friendly staff and so helpful, thoughtful with excellent customer service. Especially Chrisy who did a magnificent job at breakfast and at the pool bar. Our apartment 703 next to the pool was ideal for us. Air Con, clean and quiet. Local beach 50m away was sandy with a few pebbles, clean and clear sea. We had a car so we went to nearby beaches, xerokampos is really lovely well worth the 1hr journey and Diaskari/green beach just up the road, great taverna on the beach and marvellously clear sea and beautiful beach. And there are many other lovely beaches not so far away, Kouremenous east side of Sitia. Don't bother with Vai beach, totally overated(so busy, sea is rocky and the beach is gritty not sandy). Macry Gialos has enough restaurants around the harbour area all about a 10/15 minute walk away form Villea Village and some others on the way towards the harbour. Also you can walk up the hill where there is a nice taverna with views across the town.

Staff are exceptional, particularly Chrissoula and Nikos incredibly professional and take great pride in their work. The location is quiet with some great restaurants for evening and lunch snacks. There is a beach literally a 5 min walk away which has a handy beach bar and deck chairs. Spread your sunbathing across two locations with minimal effort. We went with three adults and 4 children the handy breakfast option was great when you didn't want to venture out in the mornings and the pool is bigger than the picture let's on good for both adults and kids.the mini all inclusive can be done as a pay as you go which is also a nice touch, selected drinks all in for 12 euro and simple cake and baguette from 4.30 I'd recommend this place simple and traditional for a good price. Lovely grounds, surrounded by mature olive trees which is well kept, a true taste of Greece.

Constandinos

It was a nice welcome to the property at the first approach. The room was clean but it needed a bit of updating specially with the air conditioner as it was making so much noise specially at night. We asked to change the room for downstairs as it was not comfortable to sleep at night but apparently was not possible as we were told that property was fully booked … The staff was trying to be helpful but was not so enthusiastically supportive . Olive garden is a nice feature to the property. There is a swimming pool, just the water there doesn’t feel so refreshing .The breakfast area was big enough and had reasonable selection of food. The serving lady there was always positive and helpful. .

Nadiya

All people working there were ultra helpful, kind and eager to help. The location was great. Own parking area just behind the hotel with direct access. The place on its own is beautiful and you can see they’ve done lots of work to keep it cosy. The garden is amazing, the pool is very big and clean, with natural shade around it from the olive trees. Our room was on ground floor and we had a small garden which was very nice and made you want to sit at night to have a drink there. The room was big enough for 3-4 people, cool and fully equipped. Nice bed for long stay. We will definitely rebook when we visit makri-gialos next time.

The lovely pool shaded by olive trees rather than umbrellas. Eating breakfast on the outside terrace with an excellent selection of food at a reasonable price. The opportunity to purchase a variety of freshly prepared snacks and drinks throughout the day at the poolside bar. There is a wide range of restaurants within easy walking distance as is the very safe gently sloping sandy beach. The reception staff and cleaners were friendly and helpful and Chrisula, the lady managing the breakfast and lunch service is exceptional - I've never seen anyone work so hard! The bar tender was also very approachable.
